Shooting Script

There are a couple things to know about the script. First of all, some dialogue will be different, as with any movie, no dialogue ever remains the same. Another thing is that the talk between Jarred (Brandon Rhea) and Cotter (Pete Vazquez) is outside, not in the bedroom. You can notice it looking at the production stills.

FADE IN:

INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT

We move down the hallway, towards the center door. When we reach the closed door, we dissolve into-

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

-a dark bedroom. A man sits on the side of the bed, his head down. He has a muscle shirt on and jeans.

He is SHAKING, running his hand through his hair, frantically rubbing his hands together. As he does, we see a CROSS tattooed on his left arm. He grabs a PILL BOTTLE off the desk beside the bed and gulps down several pills.

He puts the bottle down and grabs a paper off the desk. The paper has one single line: THE TIME HAS COME. There is also some DRIED BLOOD on the paper.

MAN (O.S.)

               (crumpling paper)

          ...Zander...

He it drops to the floor and puts his hands on his face. Then he looks up revealing JARRED DISOWN. Jarred stands up and goes walking in front of the desk. He picks up a knife and begins PRICKING his thumb nail.

JARRED

          Zander!

Jarred turns and punches the dresser. His hand is now BLEEDING. An instant later, someone KNOCKS on the door. Jarred quickly chucks the knife under the desk.

Jarred opens the door. A man named COTTER is standing there. Jarred steps aside and lets Cotter walk in. Jarred shuts the door behind him.

COTTER

          Have you heard?

Jarred nods. He holds up THE TIME HAS COME paper.

JARRED

Zander left this with the body.

COTTER

It pretty much spells itself out.

INT. OPERATIONS ROOM - DAY

The room is a bit messy, possibly from a struggle. A chair is turned over and papers are strewn about the floor.

Sitting beside the computer is a frightened OPERATOR. He has been strapped to the chair beside the desk. His mouth is taped over. There is a BRUISE on his forehead and his eye is BLEEDING. He continues to scream, which is MUFFLED.

Beside him is a computer, the monitor still on. A figure leans over, putting his hand on the desk. He silently reads through the information on the screen.

MAN (O.S.)

You boys have done your homework...

INT. COMPUTER SCREEN

Information is written out. The name at the top of it is ZANDER SABOTEUR. Below is his short profile. Nothing very detailed. Only the basics, including height estimation, weight estimation, parents.

INT. OPERATIONS ROOM - DAY

The figure leans back up. He turns and goes walking to the other side of the room. He holds a knife in one hand, PRICKING his thumb nail.

Finally he turns, revealing ZANDER SABOTEUR. He has gelled hair and wears sunglasses. He wears a muscle shirt and dark jeans. On his left arm is a tattoo of a CROSS.

ZANDER

You know what my last name means?

          Enemy. Ironic isn’t it, considering

the kind of person I am.

Zander begins walking towards the operator.

ZANDER

Ever since the cops gave up looking

for me and the assassins took over,

I have been wanted by the Leaders of

          Death and Criminals by Law.

The operator remains still as Zander gets closer.

ZANDER

This brings us to the reason why I’m

here. The deadliest group I have ever

faced is the Board of Assassins.

The operator begins to panic, his eyes widening.

ZANDER

Being their operator, you give them

all the info you can dig up on me,

right? You make them the best of the

          best?

OPERATOR

               (muffled, shaking head no)

          No! No! No!

Zander grins, stopping in front of the operator. He leans in closer, inches from the operator’s face.

ZANDER

          To stop these threats...

Zander stands upright, holding up the knife.

ZANDER

          ...I’ll keep you quiet.

The operator begins rustling around in the chair, screaming. Zander watches him, grinning.

ZANDER

          Thanks for all your cooperation.

Zander brings the knife down, but stops inches from the operator’s neck. He hesitates, deeply in thought.

ZANDER

          I can’t do this anymore.

The operator remains still, confused. Slowly, the tape on one of his wrists LOOSENS. Zander goes to walk out, but-

Brings the knife to the operator’s neck again.

ZANDER

          Yes I can.

Zander stops himself, gripping his head. He stumbles backwards, into the wall.

The operator sees this as his chance. He swings his arm up, ripping the tape off. He tears his other hand free and jumps behind Zander, swinging the tape around his neck.

He pulls back, choking Zander with all his might. Zander tries reaching for the knife, but can’t get it.

The tape falls off the operator’s mouth. He SCREAMS as he continues choking Zander with all his might.

Zander finds two dumbbells next to him on the ground. He manages to grab one and swings it over his head. The weight smacks the operator in the face, knocking him backwards.

Zander is already up, quickly glancing around. The operator is closer to what he’s looking for. The operator grabs the knife and stands. Zander keeps his hands up as they begin to circle.

Zander is come, not blinking. He watches the operator’s every move, like a cheetah watching a zebra.

The operator becomes impatient and charges. Zander does an impossible dodge from the attack. While the operator is still stabbing forward, Zander knees him in the stomach, swipes the knife away, and brings it into his back.

The operator blinks one final time as he falls to his knees. BLOOD runs down from his mouth.

OPERATOR

               (in his last words)

          I trusted you...backstabber...

ZANDER

          Trusted me? I...don’t know you...

The operator falls onto his stomach, dead. Zander grabs a piece of paper off the desk, quickly writing something down. He drops it on the operator’s body. The writing reads THE TIME HAS COME. Zander tucks his knife away and runs out.

INT. BEDROOM - DAY

Jarred folds the paper and puts it in his pocket.

COTTER

What are we gonna do about it?

JARRED

          No. Just me.

COTTER

          What?

JARRED

          Sorry, Cotter. This is...personal.

          You wouldn’t understand.

COTTER

Of course I don’t. You say it’s this

Zander Saboteur guy and none of the

B.O.A. members have ever seen him.

          It’s like we’ve been chasing a ghost!

Jarred turns away from Cotter.

JARRED

This is just something I must do alone.

COTTER

What info do you have on him?

He turns back to Cotter.

JARRED

I found some gun dealers who said

he’s trying to finally stop fighting

us. He even sold them his guns. He

wants to create a new life. Went back

          to his childhood house.

COTTER

          Can you believe that?

JARRED

No. He’s not done. The other assassins

couldn’t kill him, but I will.

Cotter steps closer to Jarred, face-to-face.

COTTER

You better be right...because I never

          trusted you. You’re responsible for

the deaths of our other partners.

Jarred glares at him. His eyes wander towards the knife under the desk. Jarred looks back at Cotter. Without another word to each other, Cotter turns and walks out.

JARRED

               (under breath)

When I get back...I’ll deal with you.

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Zander is sitting on the couch, motionless. He watches the blank screen on the TV, not blinking at all.

Suddenly, his head jerks. He grips his forehead, groaning in pain. He stumbles off the couch and runs to the kitchen.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Fumbling against the counter, he grabs a PILL BOTTLE and manages to dry-swallow one. He lies against the counter, trying to focus.

ZANDER

          You’re okay...you’re okay...

Once he has calmed, Zander stands up and walks out. We pan close to the pill bottle. The label reads MIGRANE.

INT. FAMILY ROOM - DAY

Jarred is leaning against the wall, resting his head on it. He pounds his hands on the wall and turns away from it.

JARRED

          This is enough.

He grabs the axe attack off the floor, turns, and walks out. We pan back to reveal a similar PILL BOTTLE atop the coffee table.

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

Zander is standing beside the couch, drinking from a bottle. He stops, glancing around, sensing something.

INT. DOWNSTAIRS HALLWAY - DAY

Suddenly, the front door opens and Jarred bursts in. He whips the axe attack around into his hands.

JARRED

          Zander! Come out, come out!

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Zander quietly makes his way into the kitchen. He opens the drawer and pulls out a handgun. Zander drops against the counter, grabbing his head.

Zander pulls himself up, reaching up on the counter. He comes up empty. The pill bottle is GONE.

Jarred is standing at the entrance. He has been watching the entire time. HE HOLDS UP THE BOTTLE.

Zander spins around, aiming the handgun. Jarred is gone. Zander stumbles out of the kitchen-

INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY

-and into the living room. Zander continues spinning around, trying to stay balanced. He falls into a chair, nearly tripping. Zander spins around at the kitchen again.

Jarred turns the corner of the downstairs hallway. He sees Zander aiming at the kitchen, unaware. Jarred silently rears the axe attack up, making his way towards Zander.

Zander stops moving. He turns just as Jarred brings the axe attack down. Zander dodges, rolling to his side.

Zander grabs a sword off the wall. Jarred holds up the axe attack, grinning. They slowly circle.

JARRED

          Like my new weapon?

ZANDER

          Funny, it was my idea.

Jarred looks at Zander, confused.

JARRED

You don’t know what you’re talking

          about. You’re crazy.

ZANDER

          You’re the crazy one, Jarred.

Jarred cannot take it anymore. He charges. Zander is ready for his attack. They spar in intense combat. Jarred swings the axe attack like nothing we have ever seen. Zander blocks the attacks, using the sword like a karate master.

Once they are locked, face-to-face, Zander uses his other hand to pull out a knife from his back pocket. He brings it up into the axe attack’s pole, breaking it in half.

Zander kicks Jarred back. Jarred fumbles on the ground, grabbing another sword off the wall. He and Zander begin to fight again. They are equal in their attacks.

Yes, the end is cut off. That's because I don't want to give away the ending! I know I'm a pain in the ass.
